The 1st CEM Promotion in the Dominican Republic Recieves its Certified Professionals Credential

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the AEE Dominican Republic Chapter on development, in partnership with the Comision Nacional de la Energia, have awarded the prestigious CEM (Certified Energy Manager) certificate, which accredits people as qualified energy engineers. The CEM is the most widely recognized international qualification among those offered by the AEE. This is a certificate that now has over 30 years of history and has been obtained by over 20,000 people all over the world. The course, which has ended very successfully, accredits certificate holders as experts in the field of energy efficiency.

The awards ceremony was attended by Joan Genao, director of electricity of Comision Nacional de Energia, Ángel Salas, president of the AEE Dominican Republic Chapter on development and Juan Antonio González, director of Latam Training institute. Joan Genao stressed how important it is for the Dominican Republic to have professionals who are “internationally accredited” as excellent in management and energy efficiency. “The CEM certificate is a seal of approval that accredits the training of these professional Dominicans”.

Ángel Salas expressed his satisfaction at having the 1st promotion of Dominican CEM certificates and used the occasion to welcome certificate holders as full members of the local Chapter of the AEE. Juan Antonio González, passed on congratulations from the AEE on becoming new members of the CEM global certificate family and urged the Chapter to attend the upcoming World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC) to be held in Washington from 21st to 23rd September 2016.

The Comision Nacional de Energia of the Dominican Republic, as the local partner responsible for promoting the sustainable development of the energy sector and the training of professionals in energy management in the Dominican Republic, expressed its satisfaction with the results of the course, thanking the representatives of the various associations for attending.

The ceremony was attended by over 40 people from various business organisations and institutions of the Dominican Republic, which are very aware of all the benefits related to efficient and effective energy management.
